Artist Statement
I am interested in sampling, collages, and the function of layering unique audiovisual experiences into various final products. I am inspired by pop culture and it's creative methods. I also work with experimental approaches towards finding alternate sonic experiences outside the realm of typical music.
My Dances for the Cameras are usually inspired by questions of gender and identity. The camera provides a perspective distinctly different from that of a prosenium theater. I enjoy editing the work and making it come to life within particular paramaters of space and time confined to two dimensions. Occasionally, I experiment with objects and forced animations in order to arrive at a more abstract place without the use of humans in the frame.
I have several web based art projects. They are all different in approach and content. Perhaps they are aesthetically unified somehow through my particular style of writing and drawing.
